Lately I’m managing quite a few blogs to advertise my own website, wordpress based blogs are obvious and easy choice for me, as we all know that WordPress is perfect for casual as well as professional bloggers, with the GPL liberal license make the WordPress the fastest growing blogging platform ever.
Then I found out that I probably should build blogs myself, subsequently I can use my own blogs to promote my other websites, this is not something new, there are a lot of blog networks out there doing just that, the thing is that I don’t control those blogs, in addition there is no way I can post to them, obviously I will have to pay the owner to use their blogs, probably not cheap at all.
Its quite difficult to manage more than a few blogs manually, if you don’t like garbage on your blogs, the real content writing is time and money consuming, its never easy to build successful blogs. Some blogs are quite interesting, such as this one, Tie Down Strap Assembly, it has a nice name, the content on the site is not bad, without a clear theme, you’ll find all kinds of different posts there. One more example, The Moving Tie Downs, this is a themed blog, all topics are about same theme, quite a few keywords rank well for this site. Its easy to show more similar sites, though I guess you get the point already. Here is one last note, you should build some casual blogs, let them get some content occasionally, take one blog as example, The Chains and Binders, this will make a blog network more like naturally built blog groups.
When you already have a few interesting blogs, you can try to build a few more, use the old ones to promote the new ones, this way you get your little blog network rolling. It sounds pretty simple, but to build a successful network will be much more complicated, there’s one thing you do have to keep in your mind is that don’t ruin your hard work just because you want to cut a few corners.
